Voting Rights and Election Protections
Voting Rights Overview
The fight to build a just democracy has become even more difficult. Democratic institutions and norms have come under attack and restrictive voting measures have been codified in states across the country–disenfranchising the most vulnerable communities.
It is more important than ever that the full spectrum of philanthropic institutions leverage their collective power to ensure our democracy is more reflective of and in deeper service to communities.
FCCP’s voting rights programming is dedicated to mobilizing and organizing funders to champion voting rights and equitable participation in the democratic process. By engaging and educating funders about the critical importance of investing in voting rights and election protection efforts, we work to ensure all eligible voters have a role in shaping the laws that directly impact them. Through fostering connections among national, state, and community-based funders, we facilitate strategic partnerships and collaborations that drive impactful programming and resource development, so that funders can make an impact in this space.
Our efforts ensure that financial support is directed towards initiatives that promote fair and transparent voting processes, access to voting for all who are eligible to vote, and the inclusion of robust public input from all communities. Through these collaborative efforts, we aim to dismantle voter suppression tactics and advance a more equitable and representative democracy.
