Over the last few years, we have seen several cultural moments, such as #MeToo and the response to police violence, take place that have raised social justice struggles to the national platform.
In this webinar we learned about new research from the Groundswell Fund which studied integrated voter engagement strategies in rural areas. We discussed what effective rural engagement may look like, how philanthropy can provide the space for grantees to succeed in this challenging environment, and heard from colleagues around their perspectives on engaging rural voters.

Despite a 2016 election season which saw the rise of xenophobic rhetoric, advocates in Arizona have surprised many by successfully pushing back against anti-immigrant bills in the state legislature, defeating leading anti-immigration figure Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and winning a ballot initiative to increase the state’s minimum wage.
