September 2019 Election Series Discussion – Navigating Effective Non-Partisan Election-Year Grantmaking

Properly understood, IRS rules allow foundations —both private and public— to legally support almost every type of advocacy. Foundations have a great deal of flexibility in election-year grantmaking but it is important to know what is legal, effective and doable within your institution. Join us for an Alliance for Justice-led discussion on what effective nonpartisan election-year grantmaking can look like. This session will provide information on the dos and don’ts of funding election-related activities, as well as provide an opportunity to hear from your colleagues about some of the strategies they are implementing as they approach the upcoming election year.
