Melody is Director of the New York Civic Engagement Table. The New York Civic Engagement Table supports a diverse group of over 50 socially responsible organizations committed to creating a better, more just, and democratic world through year-round civic engagement. At the NY Civic Engagement Table, she oversees collaboration with partners and development of a coordinated program as well as engages new partners, manages staff, and manages the provision of resources and technical assistance to partner organizations.
Melody has over a decade of experience in community organizing, electoral campaigns, issue campaigns, and coalition building. Melody joined NYCET after most recently working with the NYC Department of Education in their Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and before that she managed several successful electoral campaigns for progressive candidates in New York. Melody began organizing at the Working Families Party where she worked on numerous issue campaigns and managed electoral campaigns in NYC and Westchester. She was also fortunate to spend time living in the California bay area where she organized communities and coordinated coalitions to build support for affordable housing while at the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California. Melody holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Political Science from New York University.
