Creating a Representative Electorate Through Nonpartisan Voter Registration

Monday, February 1, 2016

To make real changes in our democracy and the issues we care about, we must take nonpartisan steps to close the participation gap between underrepresented communities and the voting age population as a whole. Registering voters is an initial and necessary step to increasing the representation of these communities in the voting booth and in policymaking. This briefing provided an in-depth look at the analysis of the gaps, needs, and opportunities for nonpartisan voter registration in 2016. We debuted brand-new data and insights from the most recent Independent Voter Registration report and reviewed other research and experiments that continue to improve how nonprofits approach this work.
