Our Programs

First Monday Calls

FCCP's First Monday phone briefings focus on a wide range of topics of interest to our members and the broader civic engagement funder community. These calls take place on the first Monday of every month and topics are identified and the calls organized by FCCP members. These popular briefings (30-50 funders attend monthly) provide a regular place for colleagues to connect, share breaking news, identify trends and highlight emerging issues and organizations within the field. First Monday calls are recorded and are now available on this website.

National Convenings

It’s been a long time since the work supported by nonpartisan civic engagement funders has so dominated the national agenda. This new, collective sense of urgency, further fueled by the upcoming 2008 November elections, has made the work of FCCP more timely than ever. FCCP is using the election year momentum to educate and convene a greater and more diverse number of funders around issues of common concern. We have enhanced our on-going efforts to bring together funders who may not typically sit at the same table, mixing single-issue funders with those who work across issue areas, breaking down interest silos in an effort to generate new connections and collaborations. Join us!

Regional Briefings

In order to expand and deepen our work, FCCP will occasionally co-sponsor presentations with our members and their respective regional grantmaking associations. These regional gatherings are designed to bring together the philanthropic community living in a particular geographic area to explore new civic engagement funding opportunities or to look more closely at best practices. Please let us know if you'd like to co-host an event in your area!

Collaborative Work With Allies

FCCP prioritizes working with allies outside of our membership around shared civic engagement interests. We welcome the opportunity to present sessions or programs at other affinity group or regional funder network meetings or conferences, to co-host programs or phone briefings and to serve as a civic engagement resource to the general philanthropic community. We welcome all funders to contact us if you have a relevant program idea and you are interested in partnering with FCCP.

Site Visits

Occasionally FCCP brings funders together to explore a particular place or deeply engage with a specific set of organizations. Over 45 funders attended our most recent site visit held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where we heard presentations on local culture and history, examined new state-based structures and initiatives and spent time in productive reflection and discussion. Locations are selected by the amount of member interest.

Personalized Consultation

FCCP member interests and priorities are diverse and encompass a broad range of issues. FCCP staff is available to work with members or prospective members individually, providing an overview of the field, grantmaking technical assistance and/or referrals to colleagues with similar funding goals.
