July 15-17, National Civic Summit 2009 In Minneapolis, MN
National Civic Summit in Minneapolis, MN, July 15-17, 2009.
The National Civic Summit plans to be the largest single gathering of Civic Organizations in America. Over 150 organizations dedicated to civic engagement, education, and involvement will gather to learn, connect, and engage with one another using both traditional methods of networking as well as new media tools like: user generated content, social networking sites, and an online civic resource toolkit. The Civic Summit will promote civic conversation focused on active citizenship through expanding civic imagination and civic capacity. It will be held in Minneapolis, MN on July 15-17, 2009 and will precede the July 17-19 2009 National Association of Secretaries of State conference. The National Civic Summit is a collaboration between the Citizens League, Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and civic-minded organizations including the Target Corporation.
Achieving common ground for common good is the business of democracy. In an era when political polarization and special interest agendas too often take center stage, the National Civic Summit invites individuals and organizations to re-imagine citizenship for our time.
FCCP members and their grantee organizations are invited to join this nonpartisan, national conversation - live or virtually - to learn from thought leaders, connect with other citizens and grow our collective civic impact.
