HISTORY & MISSION
FCCP has been a driving force in the donor community - advancing voter registration philanthropy in the 1980's, supporting campaign finance reform in the 1990's, and exploring new voting technologies and effective voter engagement strategies in the aftermath of the 2000 and 2004 elections. Initially conceived as the Funders' Committee on Voter Registration and Education, the affinity group changed its course in 1992 to emphasize the more varied features of engaging citizen participation and emphasizing the "year long" rather than election cycle approach to maintaining and increasing civic participation; hence, the current name: Funders' Committee for Civic Participation.

What we do:
* Monitor important trends in civic participation
* Undertake research and publish topical reports
* Convene monthly conference calls to share new research and field updates
* Host funder briefings and workshops across the country
* Hold annual membership retreat to identify common interests and chart new directions
